Mayan Wedding in San Ignacio Cayo, Belize
Mayan Wedding at Xunantunich Maya Site in San Ignacio, Cayo, Belize. Authentic Mayan Fire Ceremony and other Mayan rituals were performed by a Mayan Shaman.
Jon & Joy have a passion for traveling so when they decided they wanted to get married, they knew it had to be a destination wedding. After some research, they decided on Belize for its ancient Mayan Ruins and pristine beaches. And to add to their Belize wedding experience, I suggested they have an authentic Mayan Wedding performed by a Mayan Shaman.
Jon & Joy stayed a Ka’ana Resort in the Cayo area. We did some fun photos there then proceeded to the extraordinary ancient Maya Site of Xunantunich located in the San Jose Succotz Village, a peaceful Maya village that is located next to the Mopan River.
After their photo shoot at Xunantunich Maya Site, we had to move to another location to have the Mayan Fire Ceremony because Mayan sites are heavily protected by the Belize Archeology Department to preserve their rich Maya history. We went to a nearby location by the Mopan River. There, the Mayan Shaman performed an authentic Mayan Fire Ceremony and other Mayan rituals.
It was truly an amazing experience for all of us who were present. The Maya Shaman told me that during the Mayan Fire Ceremony, spirits come to bless everyone present and to wish the newly weds an abundant and happy life. I am sure Jon & Joy enjoyed this spiritual Mayan experience! It was UnBelizeable.
Jon & Joy then moved over to San Pedro, Ambergris Caye and stayed at the Victoria House Resort to spend their honeymoon. There, we did some Next Day Wedding Photos so that they can take back home the complete Belize experience. The best of both worlds đ
