Photo of the day in Ambergris Caye, Stand Up Paddle Surfing
If you have heard or been to Ambergris Caye, Belize, then you know of all the cool and fun things you can do. We offer snorkeling, diving, fishing, and a whole lot of activities to keep you entertained. One sport that I have seen gaining popularity in our Island is Stand Up Paddle Surfing or Hoe he’e nalu.
According to wikipedia, “Stand up paddle surfing (SUP), stand up paddle boarding, or in the Hawaiian language Hoe he’e nalu, is an emerging global sport with a Hawaiian heritage. The sport is an ancient form of surfing, and has reemerged as a way for surfers to paddle longer distances.” I can definitely see myself doing this and can definitely see visitors doing it as well as it seems like an awesome way to explore the beautiful Caribbean sea.
Pictured below is a tourist I spotted doing stand up paddle surfing while I was on my way to documenting a destination wedding at a resort up north.
Would you try stand up paddle surfing? Let me know in the comments below. Have a great Sunday! 😀
