This morning I headed to The Caribbean Villas Resort to take some shots of the San Pedro Sailing Club National Championship Regatta. It was fun and exciting watching these young kids maneuver their little sails like real pros. The first round was won by my son’s good friend Mitchell Sersland who is now in the finals.
We will be cheering for Mitchell and I invite you all to go and support this little brave fellows who despite the cold front, are out at sea doing their best. The event is being hosted at The Caribbean Villas Resort and there is lots to eat and drink. See you there 🙂

SAN PEDRO, BELIZE
Come one come all! Saturday, November 12, is the all-day
Optimist class National Championship Regatta for 8 – 14 year olds. There
will be 7 races, each one consisting of 2 laps around a regulation Olympic
triangular course. The venue is the beach at Caribbean Villas Hotel in San

There will be a big fleet – 19 boats – and 7 races. 38 young skippers
are entered to compete. The first two races are Qualifiers. The first of
these will start at 9:00am. The skippers who place in the top 9 of each
qualifier will advance to the finals. In the finals these 18 skippers will
race against each other 5 times. The last of these races is expected to
start at 4:30 pm. The three skippers with the best places added up for the
five races will be the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place National Champions. They will
be invited to race internationally in 2012. There are also trophies for best
